Life is stressful. That’s not new. But I’m trying to keep up with things that help me relax. It’s mostly a waiting game now, though that could go on for months.

Website

Slowly building out this site has been a nice break from the more stressful side of life. It’s nice to build something for the sake of it. I’ve been emailing strangers to get advice too which is fun, it’s cool that people want to explain how they built their own sites and help give me advice for mine.

I think the sky is more blue than it used to be
You can’t see red through rose glasses
So I think it’s because the blue is leaving me

Originally finished around the 24th of July 2026, some modifications were made to make some stuff more clear / less broken.

A few important things about this one

This experience works best on Windows with Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Brave, etc.). Firefox does work but JavaScript in popups is super slow, and this will cause major performance issues. I haven’t tested Safari. There is also a component that relies on window position hinting. If you’re on Linux, Wayland doesn’t allow this, so you may need to force XWayland mode or use an X11 desktop environment for this one. So for simplicity I’d recommend Windows and Chrome - a Wayland and Firefox user :(

We take turns by the lake, guiding the waves
Watching them move, seeing how they behave
She looks at me with kindness, I look back in doubt.
As I touch the water, my ripples circle out
Bouncing and swaying, glistening under light
Our motions all mingling, but something’s not quite right
The surface swirls as I watch on in despair
It was a perfect scene before I was there.

Just a small one I released under fireblue on the 31st of March 2026. It has a bit of a fun story, with me realising how soon my deadline was on holiday and flying back on the 29th, meaning most of the poem was written in Vienna, parts of the challenge designed on the plane and Singapore Airport (now the 30th and we get home at 6pm), and then put together after work on the 31th in Perth.
